Your Beauty Should Come From the Inside

I surround myself with individuals that inspire me...creatively, professionally, and mentally. My gal, Taylor Sterling is one of those women I look up to. If it weren't for her, I would have never ventured into the blogging world. I love to stay up on her posts, because she helps me stay in tune with current fashion trends. She has done so much research searching for the perfect boutiques and online stores, and I fell in love with one of her finds-Hallelu. If you all haven't realized feathers and sequins excite me...and ironically this chic boutique is from Wrightsville Beach North Carolina. I'd have to say it's a perfect fit for me since I'm Mrs. Wright now...

They recently had a fashion show, that I would have died to do makeup for. The fishtail braids were executed flawlessly! I am convinced I need to learn this technique because it is so adorable. The makeup artist made every look cohesive, soft and glowing skin, precisely lined eyes, finished with an appropriate Holiday red lip.

Be a fan of Hallelu's Boutique on facebook and don't forget to check out Sterling Style!

P.S I love the verse they have posted on their website...

"Do not let your beauty come from the outside.Your beauty should come from the inside. It should come from the heart. This is the kind that last. Your beauty should be a gentle and quiet spirit. In God's sight this is of great worth and no amount of money can buy it." 1 Peter 3:3-4

Dates and Dunes

Wednesdays are my favorites days of the week; My day off, and my all day date day with James. Even though it was pretty rainy this Wednesday, we decided to go through with our plans and head up to Santa Cruz anyhow. We had breakfast with some friends at Cafe Brasil. If you ever go there, try the acai berry bowl...it was quite refreshing. After, we all walked around downtown and checked out some local bike shops. While the boys had their fun, us gals chatted it up about traveling, life, and art. Before we headed over to a cute little surf spot, we gave our friends hugs goodbye for some alone time. It was pretty cold, but a good cold. The sky was gloomy, the air was misty, and the streets where as they should be.

Even though it was my day to be free of makeup, I wanted to get dolled up for my "day date". James always appreciates a natural look, so I decided to keep it classy with my LES 4 OMBRES from Chanel in Dunes. I felt the color choice was appropriate since we were going to the beach. I first applied my paint pot in painterly from MAC as my base, and than I precisely contoured the darkest color in my corner. I blended with the pink tone in my crease, while the silver hue was applied on the base of my eye lid. I finished the look off with the cream color under my brow and right inside my eye right by my nose. To define my eyes, I added Bobbi Brown's gel liner in Chocolate Shimmer, using my lash line as my guide.

Enjoy...

Gossip about this...

Recently, I've been intrigued with Gossip Girl. Besides escaping into their drama, I am captured by the fashion, the hair, and the makeup. Everything seems so effortless, whether it's a scene at school in preppy attire, or a nighttime affair in a dazzling glamorous beaded dress. Serena and Blair's hair is always bouncy and wavy. Their makeup is clean and their skin glows. Sometimes the most simple makeup look can be the the most beautiful. When we take care of our skin it makes the biggest difference. It is essential that we drink water, get plenty of rest, and use the appropriate skincare to maintain a healthy radiance for our skin. I love using Smashbox primer to prep the skin, Christian Dior Air Flash Foundation for perfect coverage, and Bobbi Brown's shimmer brick to highlight the skin. The trick to getting instant flawless skin...is a liquid setting powder. Try Bare Escentuals Hydrating Mineral Veil! It will hydrate your skin, perfect pores and fine lines, while leaving your skin glowing. Try replicating these romantic trends seen on Leighton Meester and Blake Lively...XOXO Priscilla

Blue Trees

Often times I tell my husband, "We need to stop and smell the roses babe..." I feel like life can get so routine and so hectic that we don't have time to take a deep breath and really enjoy the air. I love the smell of trees in the morning, damp with the morning dew. There is something so magical about this aroma, maybe because it reminds me of camping as a child or that one week every summer I spent at Hume Lake. Whatever the case, nature rejuvenates my soul. My husband and I spent the other day in Santa Cruz chopping down our Christmas Tree. So for this adventure, I decided to dig deep into my makeup box, and use the most vibrant blue eyeshadow I could find. I was inspired by earth. I intensified the hue by dipping my brush into some water first...I than patted the shadow in it's dry form over the wet pigment to increase it's depth. I blended my crease with MAC's Club eyeshadow. This is a favorite of mine, it's color adjusts to whatever you use it with; it goes great with greens, browns, silvers, or like I used-blues! I tried out my new YSL Automatic Eyeliner in black...and topped it off with YSL's Volume Effect Faux Cils Noir Radical Mascara.

Do you need Hope in your Life?

I think every woman needs some inspiration, something to give her hope in life...

Do you love Oprah? Is your skin thirsty?

If you missed out on Oprah's Ultimate Favorite things for 2010 click here to catch up. I was in shock at how much she gave out to her audience. I was on the phone with my hubby and he said it would be smart to get me on the show... too bad it was her last time handing out all those goodies. Besides the diamond earrings, and the 2012 VW Beetle...the screaming crowd received the moisturizer she's been using for 10 years: Hope in a Jar.
Philosophy created a commemorative, limited-edition 'hope in a jar' moisturizer. It comes in a dazzling box covered in sparkling red glitter with little baby Oprah on the front.

Hope in a Jar for all skin types, gently exfoliates, hydrates, and protects the skin. It is a light weight formula that helps rid of lines and wrinkles, and fades discoloration. It gives your skin the antioxidants it needs to hinder any future environmental damage. Your skin will look more radiant with each use due to the exfoliation. It will also help with repairing the skin.

It does not have an SPF so make sure your foundation has one in it-or you use an additional SPF.

Philosophy is such an inspiring line, they have adorable quotes that really lift you up and make you think.
