Preview of FAUX's Starlette Muse Collection

The FAUX Lash ladies, Sterling, Miranda & Alexia were so sweet to ask me to model for their Starlette Muse collection! They released this preview video the other day-so I had to share. I had a wonderful day bonding with Miranda, Alexia, Hairstylist Ashley Smith, and photographer Heather Gulyash during our photoshoot at Sandbox Studios. They have not launched the line yet, but stay tuned to see 3 NEW designs. (I LOVE THE BOTTOM LASHES!!!)

Meeting New Friends

Have you met my friend, Heidi Morgan yet? We've done a few fun things together in the past...she has such a warm personality and I always feel refreshed after spending time with her. The great thing about her is that she ALWAYS photographs the whole story. She finds pleasure in capturing the details...things that may be forgotten but oh-so important. We have Model Mayhem to thank for our friendship, and we both share the same delight in meeting new faces. Heidi introduced me to her friend, who is a model, actress, and the official 2012 Mrs. San Francisco- Erica Sanders. Enjoy some images from our lovey bridal shoot together...

Joanna Cleveland designed and styled all accessories for this shoot.
Where have you been, and where will you go? Do you tell your story to everyone you meet? I tend to be one of those "open book" kinda gals. One thing about my job, is I can't be shy. I meet many new faces on a regular basis-and I welcome each and everyone with hopes to part with a hug in the end. The great thing about social media is you can meet people in an instant, and when you meet in person it's like you have known each other forever. I had the pleasure of meeting Joanna Cleveland, designer of PYRCE Jewelry via email first...and once we met, ironically she knew my hubby! We had plenty to talk about so, I cannot wait to work with her again. Her passion for her artwork was evident throughout the day as she helped style this shoot. Check PYRCE out on Etsy and Facebook to see more designs.

Not just any ol' Birthday

Timelines were very important to me in my younger years. I enjoyed planning out my life, and giving myself deadlines of when I needed to achieve certain things. Today is my birthday, not just any ol' birthday, but a date that I gave myself a deadline for a few things. Ironically I have not achieved what I thought was important, but much more than I could have dreamed of...

While I could tell you about my well deserved fine lines of wisdom, and give you some product knowledge on a great ant-aging (full body) cream...I though it would be fun to reminisce on what I have accomplished this last year, and say thank you to those who supported me along the way.

This past year went by so fast... Thank you to my dear friends and family who are so accommodating to my crazy schedule, and lastly but oh-so-very important... Thank you to my loving husband who is my number one fan. While today marks the deadline of some things I needed to accomplish... I have accomplished more than I could have dreamed of with you by my side. Thanks for loving me, and for letting our house be consumed by makeup!

I can't wait to celebrate.

Piera Beauty Studio-Lash Extention Review

There are so many "beauty" trends a woman can choose from; airbrush spray tan, hair extensions, waxing... Just to list a few. I am normally a skeptic on the latest fad, and before I venture to a new location to get beautified, I need a girlfriend's referral. If you are my friend, or have been a one of my clients, you may have asked me my thoughts on Lash Extensions. I probably told you to stick with falsies for your special day, just in case...(I would never want you to have crusty, spider legs.)

I am here with an announcement! I now approve of lash extensions!!! -But only if you go see Susana Gonzalez in her darling studio, Piera Beauty.

2 Hour process-the extension is applied 1 lash at a time

First things first, let me tell you about Susy: She has an extensive resume in the cosmetic industry, having worked for some of my favorite companies like MAC, Nars, and most recently Bobbi Brown. Susy is also certified to perform waxing, facials, and lash extensions. While she has plenty of years of experience, and education in the beauty industry, the best thing about Susy is her personality. She is a genuine, warm, and kind soul. I find her truly inspiring, because of her positive and respectful attitude. It is safe to say, you will be very calm and relaxed after your 2 hour visit with this sweet gal.

10 days later, I have only had about 5 lashes fall off

When you are working with artist of any type, let them be in charge. Sometimes you have an idea of what you want, but if you let the expert make the decisions they will do their best work. Once I walked into Piera Beauty Studio, I let Susy have all control because I trust her work. She knows my style is more classic and timeless, so she used:

-Silk, J Curl lashes

-50 individual lashes on each eye

-sizes, 10, 11, and 12

-applied with 3D glue

Wash your face gently, avoiding the eye area. Cleanse the eye area with Q-Tips and water.

Why I love my lash extensions...

-no need for mascara
-no need for a lash curler
-they do not feel heavy
-my eyes are defined from afar
-the way they were applied was so natural...people have to stand very close to see if they are fake or real (I have received so many compliments!)

Piera Beauty Studio is located in San Francisco. To book your appointment with Susy call her at 650-872-2636 and let her know you are my friend.

Here's to another week without using mascara!!!

Go Green

Most photographers that have worked with me, know I love any image that has warm, romantic lighting...there is something about the tone that melts my heart. Even though the skies have been dreary and dull lately, I see no reason to have a look that it cold too. I prefer to warm my skin, eyes, and lips with golden shimmers.

Headband also from Francesca's
On my eyes: My base color is Queen Phyllis by Bare Escentuals-a necessity for every girls makeup bag! Next,I lined my top and bottom lash line with Java Limitless Eyeliner by Smashbox. Last, for a little definition in the crease of your eye, take an already used bronzer brush (left over product should still be on the brush) and softy dust it on your eyes.

Nude Lip Trio
Sometimes I think that colors are created by accident, like this lime green sweater I purchased from Francesca's. It has a wonderful yellow undertone that matches perfectly with golden tones, so I had to have it.

Have you gone green yet?

Black and White

Even though it is too cold to fully commit to wearing linen and resort wear, I couldn't resist wearing my new white Gibson Linen One-Button Blazer today. I paired it with black pants and accessorized my outfit with a white statement necklace. There is something so classic and chic about the combination of black and white.

Deborah Lippmann Nail Color: No More Drama layered with Diamonds and Pearls

My makeup was in sync with my outfit today, black smokey eye with a nude lip...Follow the steps below to create this look:

1. Use your finger to prep your entire eyelid with MAC's paint pot in painterly
2. Smudge a think line of Bobbi Brown's gel liner in black ink near your lash line using MAC's 214 Short Shader Brush
3. Over lap the liner with Laura Mercier Creme Eye Color using MAC's 234 Split Fibre Eye Blending Brush... you can choose any color, but I would suggest Alloy (lighter) or Cocoa Velor (darker)
4. Apply YSL's Volume Effect Faux Cils Shocking Mascara to top and bottom lashes
5. Apply FAUX Audrey Lashes to your lash line for a complete look
6. If needed... define lash line with MAC's Penultimate' Eye Liner in black by lightly pressing against the false eyelash band.

What white blazer do you have your eyes on this season?
