Degrees of Dazzling

The BareMinerals "Degree Of Dazzling" Holiday Set includes 20 miniature sized eye shadows, perfect for any mood, outfit, or occasion. In my opinion, this is one of the best value sets they have launched in years. The finishes and the color range are flexible for any personality...and while it is geared towards the Holidays, this set can merge well with running errands and work too.

-There are 4 finishes to play with from creamy velvets, high shines, and sparkling glimmers, to deep liners.

-There are 5 color families, warm neutrals, seductive greys, perfect pinks, majestic purples, and luscious greens.

Yoga // Black Leather // Lagoon // Toasted Espresso // Starry Nigh
There are a few options to apply the liners.

1. If you want a soft look, use them dry.
2. For a smoldering creamy finish, mix a small amount of the shadow with PrimeTime eyelid primer (half/half).
3.To achieve fierce definition, run your liner brush under some water and mix the powder in the lid for a liquid liner.

Iridescent Iris // Rose Gold // Deep Sea // Pewter // Stay Golden
The High Shine shadows are perfect for Holiday parties! You can also create a foiled effect by applying them with a damp brush!

Golden Pear // Violet Spell // Ginger Sugar // Silver Dollar // Strawberry Mouse
The Sparkling Glimmers are feminine and subtle! I love the tiny sparkly they have! They are effortless, and chic! So pretty!
Velvet Nude // Velvet Emerald // Velvet Mauve // Velvet Charcoal // Velvet Lavender
The Velvet shadows have a matte finish, without looking "cakey" or dry. These are great for a soft everyday look, used on the entire eyelid as your base color. You can also use them in the crease with a dramatic smokey eye to blend and create a soft finish.

What's your favorite finish? What's your favorite hue?
Keep an eye out online and in department stores to get your hands on this set! ($79)

Living Water International

"The meaning of life is to find your gift, the purpose of life is to give it away." - Joy J. Golliver

This past summer, my husband and I went through a series of classes to determine our personal talents, our character strengths, ultimately what our spiritual gifts are. My spiritual gift is compassion, my personality takes on others problems and feels their pain. I always want to help those around me, and I've been able to use these talents daily as a makeup artist. My husbands spiritual gift is leading, he can walk into any room and people are instantly drawn to him. He knows how to get people to do what he says because they trust him. He is a natural born leader and uses his talents daily in his occupation.

Together, we merge our strengths and balance our weaknesses. Its been on my heart for years that we are destined to do something, maybe multiple things, as husband and wife to improve our world. It's crazy how when you are really listening to God's purpose for your life, things are presented to you out of the blue.

I'm so excited to say we are planning to take a trip with a group of 18 others to El Salvador in January 2014. We will be working with Living Water International: James will be digging water wells for the community so they can have clean drinking water, while I will be teaching clean water habits/hygiene to the women and children in the community.

Little back story on how we made this decision to go to El Salvador...While I'm a "planner" I tend to be an impulsive person when my heart feels right. When we were approached with this opportunity I said yes instantly. Heck ya I want to talk to women about hygiene and taking care of their health. This is what I was made to do-what I've been wanting to do for some time now. In my mind, if God wants us to go we will go. I'm not in charge of the logistics.  My husband and I were facing a tough week, financially, when we were asked to go. We needed to put down a deposit for around $400 to hold our spots. During that moment it just wasn't a realistic idea, but we kept praying about it. A few weeks went by and all of a sudden $1000 is donated to the trip, and it was given to us! I honestly thought it was a joke. When you have faith God works out the logistics... In any aspect of our lives. It's crazy because I see God work through my blog on a regular basis, and that's why I'm sharing today. I really don't know who reads what I write, but for some reason I keep writing. He always has a plan for our lives, and his plan is always way better than anything we can come up with.

Please keep us in your prayers during this process of planning. Please pray for our safety as we travel and stay in El Salvador. Please pray that we are able to make a difference in peoples lives while we are there, not only by providing them with the tools to have clean water and maintain their health, but showing them God's unconditional love through our actions.

We are so blessed to be able to figure out what facial cleanser we want to try next, what type of fancy water bottle we want to carry our filtered water in. Can you imagine not having clean water to bathe in, wash your clothes in, or drink whenever you were thirsty? If it is on your heart to financially support what we are doing click here to donate to myself, James, or the entire team.

Let The Good Times Roll

Exfoliation is a necessary part of your skincare routine and should be done 1-2 times a week. Once you remove the dead skin cells, your skin can absorb more hydration from your serums and moisturizers + you get to show off your fancy new skin cells to the world!

Let The Good Times Roll

If you choose to use a mechanical exfoliant it should not be abrasive, be nice to your face and your body!

Let The Good Times Roll Facial Cleanser by Lush reminds me of cookies. It gives me the urge to start baking yummy treats. When you remove the lid to this Facial Cleanser.... do not eat it. I wanted to too... so did the hubby. We were craving sweet snacks for the rest of the evening. HMMMM.... it smells that good.

First, I removed my eye makeup, and than cleansed my skin with a gel cleanser before using Let The Good Times Roll. It's easy to use more than needed, so don't grab too much product...a little goes a long way. I spread the product out on my hands before touching my skin. My skin felt like velvet after I rinsed off this exfoliant. (There's glycerin in it, which acts as a humectant to bind moisture to the skin). It was such a gentle process, so I would even suggest those with sensitive skin give it a try!

Some of the ingredients include Maize Flour, Corn Meal, and my personal favorite - Cinnamon!!

Blemish Therapy

Acne can be quite frustrating and can be a result of genetics, hormones, stress, unhealthy lifestyle, and/or improper skincare routines. There are many solutions to reduce acne, one of my secrets to preventing future breakouts and healing those annoying ones that pop up overnight is the BareMinerals Blemish Therapy.

Yep, this Blemish Therapy is powder.

Blemish Therapy

Why I like it:

- It does not dry my skin out.
-No flakiness has occurred on my skin..
- I can use it under makeup or over makeup
-There is no line/residue like a gel would leave behind on the skin.
- This treatment is invisible... My hubby knows everything about me, but some things should be left in secret. With a powder formula, my hubby doesn't even notice I have acne treatment on my face when it's time for bed!!

*This product contains ingredients like Sulfer, Tea Tree, Kaolin, Retinol, Titanium Dioxide, and Aloe.

Remember it may take time to completely heal all signs of acne, but there are solutions to get your skin where you would like it to be! A strict at home skincare regimen is the first step to begin seeing progress.

Sigma's Synthetic Sigmax Brushes

Often times I tell my clients, "You can't cut veggies with a spoon - you need a knife!" Who knows where I came up with this... but it's a good visual right?! With the right artistry tools, you can create a flawless appearance to your makeup.

Sigma is known for their brush collection, I really appreciate the softness of the Synthetic Sigmax brushes. Here are my absolute favorite for my personal makeup bag and my professional brush belt:

1. Precision Round P82 - The secret to a good smokey eye is learning how to blend correctly! This brush is useful when softening the corners and creases -I like to use a neutral/beige shadow to buff out the rougher edges of a smokey eye with the P82.

2. Round Kabuki F82 - This is a useful tool when I am softening harsh edges of makeup. Maybe around the jaw line, and especially when contouring the face. I love a good contour, but sometimes a harsh line is not ideal. This brush is perfect to merge colors together for a seamless look without removing too much product during the process.

3. Precision Flat P80 - Concealer is always a must under the eye area, and while I like to pack it on my clients, I can't stand when you can tell someone is wearing concealer. I like it to blend into the skin, and this brush helps me achieve my goal of making concealer one with the skin.

4. Flat Kabuki F80 - Great for a liquid foundation application! (I like using it to apply Diorskin Forever Foundation). If you have an extra moment try coating the entire head of the brush with your foundation before buffing it onto the skin. Sometimes using a palette can make this less messy rather than using the back of your hand.  This application process is so easy, and the final results are a flawless complexion.

Have your tried Sigma's brushes before? Which ones do you like to use?

Ultimate Body Wrap

Body wraps are extremely effective treatments in the Spa Industry, and having an at home maintenance program is quite convenient for my lifestyle. You can wrap while doing household chores so no need to sit/lay down (unless you would like to).

It Works! Ultimate Body Applicator

The Ultimate Body Applicator is a 45 minute process, and the detox lasts for 72 Hours. I purchased 3 sets (4 wraps in each box), and I have completed 1 set which I concentrated on my abs. My next set will be on my thighs, and I will use my last box on my arms. I personally noticed more definition in my stomach after the 2nd wrap.

Tips to follow while wrapping:

*Do not drink coffee or alcohol during the 72 hours.
*I highly recommend a large amount of water intake so that you do not experience any headaches from lack of caffeine.
*Cut the wrap in half when applying it to the arms or legs.
*Rinse body off with water but try to avoid using any cleanser/product in the area you would like to wrap.

While this can assist in weight loss, its still necessary to work out and eat healthy. For some, it can be a great quick fix to slip into that adorable dress for a special occasion.  I believe a body wrap is wonderful to remove toxins from our system, break up fat cells, hydrate the epidermis, firm loose skin, and help reduce the appearance of cellulite.

I'd love to hear about your results after you try one!
