Modcloth-Fantastical Voyage

The Fantastical Voyage Collection, photographed by Kristin Cofer, was finally posted on Modcloth! I have been so excited to share these images with you all! To see the rest of the darling outfits click here.

My inspiration stemmed from Modcloth's retro style: My vision was to have a defined eye and lip that would grab the camera's attention, while the skin was classic-offering a doll like feeling. These are my 3 favorite hairstyles of the moment: big and full curls, the victory roll, and the fishtail braid.

Berry Christmas

Remember last year when I told you we cut down our own tree? Well, it's now an official tradition-because we did it again! This year, we spent some time searching for the perfect ornaments too. I found some great pieces at Anthropologie, Z Gallerie, and Restoration Hardware. Surprisingly, Cost Plus had the most options-and the best prices!

As I write this post, I had a realization...I have been wearing ALOT of Berry hues, and ALOT of YSL product. I can't get enough of this beautiful, festive color! You can wear it on your cheeks, lips, nails, eyes, clothes...everything! Same goes for YSL!

Yves Saint Laurent 'Ombres Duolumieres #21 is my latest obsession. The Intense Plum fits flawlessly into the crease...I love a shadow that blends with ease. Line the eyes with Bobbi Brown's Black Ink Gel Liner seen here, and finish with YSL's Shocking Mascara seen here. Sadly, I think they have discontinued my favorite YSL Golden Gloss #8, but any mauve or berry tone will do for this look!

Here's to a Berry Christmas!

Party Planner

With the winter holidays upon us, that means social gatherings galore! Here are a few products I use to prepare my home before quests arrive, and my skin before the parties!

Over the years, Lavender has become one of the most relaxing scents for me. Candles always give me a calm sensation-my favorite candle in the house is my Capri Blue Mercury Glass candle from Anthropologie. The container matches my home decor, and it sits lovely in my glass bowl of dried lavender.

Buy fresh Lavender, let it dry, and than use as a candle filler.

Hand soap is another item I recently have been splurging on...when I first tried L'Occitane's Lavender Cleansing Hand wash I couldn't stop admiring the fragrance. Having a elegant or fun hand wash in the bathroom during the Holidays is always nice for guests to indulge in.

With the long hours of shopping, decorating, and events remember to hydrate under the eyes. The skin under the eye is thinner, showing fine lines and dark circles faster. Kiehl's Avocado Eye cream will soothe the dryness around your eye are (and even the lips!) make sure to follow the directions and "pat" not rub, as the consistency will change and not work as well.  (It's a great price point too only $27!)

Red Nails always gets me in the Holiday Spirit

Last but not least... start prepping your legs and arms for all the Holiday parties. (I can't wait to have some fun this season!) Clarin's Delectable Self Tanning Mousse has Mirabella Oil in it, which is a great moisturizer during the cold season, will give you a healthy color (for that cute sequin dress), and if there is sun out-you even have some protection with it's SPF 15.

Do you have any fun parties planned this season?

The Small Things

Happy Thanksgiving Day my dear friends! The other day I came home and noticed an ELF palette in the living room. Of course I ask my hubby "what is this?" and his response was so sweet..."I'm not sure if it is good, but the other day you said you needed a new palette."

I may have not outwardly seemed thankful for his kind gesture, but everyday since I have become more thankful for this small thing he did.

Here are some things I am thankful for this year:

1. I am grateful for a husband  who takes care of me
2. I am grateful for my brother's safety in Africa
3. I am grateful my mom found her new job
4. I am grateful for all the photographers I work with, because they are amazing friends
5. I am grateful to have been part of so many weddings this year. I felt so special.
6. I am grateful that I have God to comfort me and tell me he has a plan
7. I am grateful my BFF is now living just a lil closer- in San Diego
8. I am grateful for the relationships with each of my family and friends
9. I am grateful I have found my career in makeup

and #10. I am SO grateful for all the small things that I don't notice, or acknowledge as much as I should.

What are some small things you are grateful for this year?

Vitamin D

My kittens' constant goal in life is to be outdoors...escaping to chase birds and sit in the sun is what they long for. I feel the same way sometimes, minus the part about chasing birds :) The other day was so lovely, that me and my hubby decided to ride our bikes to grab some lunch. Casual attire was a must for this sunny day together, and minimal makeup was appropriate for our outdoor activities.

White eyeliner in your waterline will open your eyes, and brighten your look!

Something about a great nail color makes me smile like I just got a good dose of Vitamin D. Even in the midst of "casual" makeup, you can always sparkle with something fun on your fingers and toes. I wanted to get in the mood for the upcoming holidays with Sally Hansen's Nail Polish Strips in Glitz Blitz.

When's the last time you got out and about in the sun?
