Creme de Corps

Last year I bought a Ford Edge, it's a great little commuter vehicle...the main reason I fell in love with it was because of it's fabulous moon roof. The past few days I have had the liberty of enjoying my moon roof, the sun has been spoiling me with it's rays, and oh have I enjoyed it during my drive to work. I have been pushing my luck, trying to get away with mini skirts without tights...it's not quite that warm yet which makes me yearn for the summertime.

In the meantime during these cold days, I have stumbled across a unique body wash and a new favorite body moisturizer to prep my skin. I enjoy a nice body scrub, rough particles always make me believe I am doing some deep cleaning. I tend to overlook hydrating body washes-so when I was given the Creme de Corps Soy Milk and Honey Body Polish by Kiehl's I was stoked! My first experience left me in awe, I was yelling out ingredients to James as I read on in the shower. James says I am always running behind, because I am distracted by my new beauty products I bring home. I just can't help telling him why "this and that" is so wonderful and why he needs to try it. Anyways, overall this product took care of all my concerns: exfoliation, cleansing, and hydration! It was nice to have a 3 in 1 product. I followed up with Kiehl's NEW Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter. Although it doesn't have coconut in it, my nose grasped the presence of coconuts beautiful scent. All who know me, know I am a sucker for anything coconut...hmmmm. The texture of the Body Butter was luxurious, it was not sticky, oily, or too heavy/too light. It was perfection. These products are great for men and women, and great for those on a budget!

I can't wait for summer!

I'm Just a Girl...

Take this pink ribbon off my eyes
I'm exposed
And it's no big surprise
Don't you think I know
Exactly where I stand
This world is forcing me
To hold your hand
'Cause I'm just a girl, little 'ol me
Don't let me out of your sight
I'm just a girl, all pretty and petite
So don't let me have any rights

My adolescent years were spent idolizing Gwen Stefani. I was intrigued by her fearlessness to be unique, I admired her tom-boyish persona, and I clung to her out of this world fashion style. Gwen's signature makeup trends have remained consistent: winged eye liner and bright red lips. Although she isn't rocking her blue hair anymore, she has kept true to herself in her career of fashion.

Enjoy her Spring 2011 Runway Makeup Looks: Gold eyeshadow, black winged liner, bronzed cheeks, either nude lips or a deep red lip, and blue nails.

Recently People announced Gwen's partnership with L’Oréal Paris. Exciting news!!

What's in Rihanna's Makeup Bag?

Women in the music industry are a large part of the worlds fashion trends, they make their statements and we replicate them. Rihanna has been extremely successful in her career, and over the years her idea of fashion has evolved. She went from a soft dainty girl, to a hard rocker chic, into a sophisticated woman. Rihanna grew up with a makeup artist as her mother. And although she was unable to wear makeup as a child, she grew to be the face of Covergirl. These pictures are of Rihanna for Interview December 2010 by Mikael Jansson. I love how colorful the makeup is for this shoot. Flawlessly bright for Spring!

The Modern Twiggy

I once had the pleasure of helping a customer create a modern "twiggy" look for her wedding day. I had so much fun escaping the traditional bridal image, she was fun, easy going, and so eager to be unique. She had never worn makeup, so we took a few hours, she invested in the highest quality of tools and cosmetics for her special day. I feel so blessed to be a makeup artist, to paint faces, teach women how to portray themselves the way they see fit, and to be part of such a special memory.

Wildfox, a line inspired by sleepovers, beautiful books, fairies, dreams, vintage t-shirts and the friendship of creators Emily Faulstich and Kimberley Gordon, posted their latest Spring 2011 cover today. I had to share, because I fell in love with their makeup artist: Carlene K.

Such BIG eyes, a plump pouty lip... oh so Twiggy 2011
