A look into my bathroom...

Do you read Vogue? Lately, I have been buying magazines at the grocery store. It is quite pricey, so I am considering giving in and getting a yearly subscription. I also really like Allure, they have sooo many cosmetic reviews!

1. L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil...is great for dry skin, and for shaving. I was scared to venture into a "oil" body cleanser...but it was really nice. I enjoyed the product more when I applied it dry and than rinsed off...it's scent blends well with the Creme De Corps.

2. Kiehl's Creme De Corps body moisturizer has healed my dry skin! I really enjoy how "oily" it feels without a residue after application. It is full of cocoa butter and sesame oil! Great for men too!! Read more about this line here.

3.Ever fill overwhelmed with your options in the self-tanning section?? Ever felt like you didn't really see a difference...or worse-you turned ORANGE!!!? I have had my fair share of bronzing accidents. I don't usually use Lancome, but I am always down to try something once. I fell in love with their Flash Bronzer. It has a natural carmel extract, with a pearl finish. It is also full of antioxidants-so it was hydrating as well!

5.Vegans please pay attention :) Try Dr. Dennis Gross' EXTRA strength Alpha Beta Peels! First, I use my regular face wash...makeup remover...and than Step 1...and than Step 2. Step 2 tingles a bit...which I liked, because I knew it was exfoliating! *It reduced my acne, and made my skin glow the next morning!

6. After exfoliating...always use a SPF. You don't want to repeat the damage you just got rid of! Clarins "Sun Wrinkle Control" is a light weight, comfortable texture. It does not smell, and it is fine to layer with makeup.

7. Laura Mercier's Lip Glace in Bon Bon is a great coral for Summer. It has a yummy vanilla flavor, and a light texture.

8. Neutral nails always make the skin look more tan...I just painted mine in preparation for Vegas with Chanel's Django. (Read here to learn how to make your at home manicure last longer than normal) I'm hoping I get pleanty of Vitamin D this weekend!

Ok, now I need to go pack!! Stay tuned for pictures from my trip!

Wipe it off...or keep it on??

Heidi Morgan Photography

I work in an industry where new things are popping up all the time... some trends I love, some I like, some I am confused by. While I am an adventurous gal, I too have my moments where I need to stay in my comfort zone. I normally tell my friends and clients, if you really hate it...you can always wipe it off or re-do it. No need to fret my friends, cosmetics should be FUN!!! So, I thought I would be fun and try the new "painting one nail a different color" trend. I have gotten mixed reviews, and oddly enough it's the more mature crowd that is digging this and the younger crowd who is frowning down upon my one finger ;) WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Nail color's by Deborah Lippman: Satin Doll and Pop Life.

...this is a sneak peak from a photo shoot I did with Sterling Style, Danielle Derksen, Heidi Morgan photography, and Sweet Tooth Confections. (I am sorry I haven't had time to share, keep checking in to see the rest!!!)

Puff It Up

In December I posted a hair tutorial and I felt like everyone went out and tried it for their holiday parties. I was browsing on B. Jones Style's blog and thought I would share her video with all my lovely readers.

I am a huge fan of the "poof", "pompadour", or as she calls it the "puff it up" (Especially when my hair is dirty...) My hair isn't quite long enough to get a braid, but I have been growing it out...so I will be trying this very soon!

What's your Alter Ego?

This photo makes me want to try a new look. The dewy skin, the perfectly contoured cheek bones, the delicate eyes, the creamy lips...sigh. Normally, pink would be my "safe" pastel lip color, and let's not forget my obsession with creamy nude lip colors...but I think I need to start trying peachy tones. I am always drawn to them, I just don't ever wear them.

If you haven't noticed it yet...let me bring your attention to this darling necklace by Alter Ego, designed by Erika Walton. I have been intrigued lately with accessories...makeup and jewelery are the easiest way to enhance your style and make a statement.

Check out the rest of the Alter Ego collection and don't forget to follow them on Facebook!

What is your favorite piece? What new things would you like to try this season?

Hair with Texture

Hairspray, mouse, balm, fine tooth combs, round combs, curling irons...all these items create an illusion and add texture to your hair. My dear friend Danielle, who runs her business in Los Gatos at the Mona Lisa Salon, has been so kind to introduce me to Unite Hair products. I first fell in love with their Blonda Shampoo (Wonderful for those who's blonde turns brassy or orange over time). Then...Danielle showed me Boosta Spray, which I have blogged about here. NOW....she has me using the Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner, the leave in conditioner spray, and the Session Max Spray! Whew...my first "hair routine."

I have also been itching for a curling iron...my hair lacks the ability to hold a curl for more than 10 minutes and it makes me sad. Hot Tools, however is making me happy.

To get this look... I spray Boosta Spray at my roots while my hair is wet. After I blow dry my hair, I begin to curl small sections of my hair. Instead of starting from the bottom and rolling up, I begin in the  middle of the sectioned off hair. If I need to go back and perfect the bottom I will, this look is more modern. To finish, I spray Session Max Spray from the bottom of my curls. I brush this out so it appears softer, and the hair spray isn't as "crunchy".

I was inspired by this background at the Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. The earth was hard, and the dirt was jagged...it was a beautiful intense texture.

Yellow Details

Details. The smallest detail can change an event...and make or break a lifetime of memories. Bridal showers are one detail of a girls life that definitely make the dreamy wedding story complete.
Today was my dear friend Jen's bridal shower. Although I've been in family weddings and in my own wedding (hehe)...this will be my first friend's wedding I will be a part of. Her shower was a day full of good company, and impeccable attention to detail. I found delight in the detail of the handmade wine glass charms, spicy Cajun pasta, colored sugar on the glasses, and the groom and bride cupcake toppers.

As I planned my outfit for the event, I coordinated my makeup to complete the story. Garden of Eden Yves Saint Laurent's 'Ombres 5 Lumieres' Palette was the perfect match to my Maggie Ward dress. My delight for detail is found in my makeup. I thrive off inspiring colors, such as my new yellow belt that finished my outfit. Yellow is so vibrant, and unexpected, yet its chic and still embodies the earthiness found in green.

Detail is a must for a lady, whether it is being showcased in a large event like her bridal shower, or smaller things like what color her nail polish is going to be for the week...
